Maintenance

A paper towel and rubbing alcohol quickly removes tar from the mating faces. This will keep the action smooth and the seam tight.

Tar and carbon will eventually build in the bowl and smoke path. Any small rigid tool can be used to remove material, returning the path to good performance.

Char is good.

Expect some charring with the first uses. Char acts as a protective layer for the underlying wood. We recommend using a filter during the break-in period.
